Alinta Energy: Electricity and gas plans

Alinta Energy is a well-known player in the Australian energy market, with a long history of service, large-scale infrastructure and a commitment to community involvement. Their motto is “affordable and sustainable” and they seem to be working hard to comply with both – they have self-imposed targets to boost renewable energy investments and are investing in wind farms, geothermal and other renewable sources of energy.

As an energy supplier and retailer, they can offer their customers a wide range of benefits, including:

Large-Scale Infrastructure

With a legacy of over 20 years as an Australian energy supplier, Alinta Energy now has over a million customers. They offer both gas and electricity supply across wide expanses of the country, including the remote Pilbara region of Western Australia. Alinta Energy also operates infrastructure for the distribution of energy, enabling them to deliver 3,000 megawatts of power, in addition to owning and operating numerous power stations.

Customer Rewards

Alinta Energy has a fantastic customer rewards program that offers a really broad range of benefits. This includes access to exclusive VIP experiences and competitions, as well as an assortment of discounted special buys. Community Involvement:

Renowned for their commitment to supporting community not-for-profit organisations, Alinta Energy have helped (and continue to help) a wide range of worthy causes. They recently donated $100,000 to The Salvation Army in celebration of achieving one million customers, money that was put to use caring for vulnerable members of the community. Alinta Energy has also implemented a community volunteering program that allows all of their employees to take a day of paid leave every year so they can volunteer their services to local organisations. Alinta also recently announced a new partnership with the Country Education Foundation of Australia (CEF) which provides support for students in remote communities.

Alinta Energy has received a slew of awards over the years, including four Expert’s Choice Awards in various categories in 2018. In 2019 they were announced as one of Australia’s Most Impressive Energy Retailers and received three People’s Choice Awards in the categories of Most Recommended, Excellent Customer Service and Highly Trusted, based on feedback from over 3,000 customers.

In an effort to minimise their carbon footprint, Alinta Energy have committed to renewable energy outputs of 1,000 megawatts by 2020, increasing to 1,500 megawatts by 2025. To reach these goals they have implemented a battery storage project to supply power to mining operations in the Pilbara, as well as starting construction on the largest wind farm in Western Australia. Currently, they’re purchasing energy from various renewable energy sources, including wind and solar farms located throughout the country.
